(H11.2) Omit underlined portion when fence post is attached to back face of barrier.

All posts shall be vertical. Grout shall be placed under the post base plates in accordance with Sec 1066.

(H11.3)

Payment for furnishing, galvanizing and erecting the fence and frame complete in place will be considered completely covered by the contract unit price for (120 in. 96 in.) Curved Top Pedestrian Fence (Structures) per linear foot.

(H11.4)

Dimensions of pedestrian chain link fence are measured horizontally.

(H11.5)

The maximum spacing allowed between pull post and end posts is 100 feet. Post brace and 1/2-inch diameter truss rod are required for panels adjacent to pull post and end posts only. Connect the lower end of truss rod to bottom of pull posts and end posts to which the stretcher bar is attached.
Rail clamps, dome caps, bands, tie wires, stretcher bars and truss rod connections shall be in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. The truss rod and truss rod connections shall have a minimum capacity of 2000 pounds. Dome cap shall fit tightly.
Expansion joints shall be placed in the horizontal pieces at not more than 30-foot centers and at all joint filler locations in the curb barrier with a minimum gap of 3/8 inch at 60° degrees F.

(H11.6) Use underline information when fence attached to back face of barrier.

Steel for truss rods shall be ASTM A709 Grade 36. Steel for post straps shall be ASTM A709 Grade 50. Neoprene bearing pads shall be 50 durometer and shall be in accordance with Sec 716.

(H11.7) Use when fence attached on top of curb.

Steel for base plate shall be ASTM A709, Grade 50.

(H11.8)

Contractor shall submit complete detailed shop drawings in accordance with Sec 1080.

(H11.9)

All base plates, ASTM A500 Grade C furnished pipes straps, U-bolts, resin anchors, hex nuts, and washers shall be galvanized in accordance with ASTM A123 and Sec 1081.
U-bolts shall be ASTM F1554 Grade 36 or weldable Grade 55 per supplementary requirement S1. Resin anchors shall be ASTM F1554 Grade 36.
Note: Use notes I2.1, I2.2 and I2.3 when fence post attached to back face of barrier.

(H11.10) Place following note with new barrier details when fence post attached to back face of barrier.

Reinforcing steel shall be shifted in the field to clear resin anchors for chain link fence.

(H11.11) Use applicable underlined portion per pedestrian fence.

(120 in. 96 in.) Curved Top Pedestrian Fence (Structures) will be measured to the nearest linear foot for each structure, measured along the centerline fence from end of fence to end of fence.

(H11.12)

Chain link wire fabric shall be 9 gauge minimum, 2-inch diamond mesh.

(H11.13)

The chain link fence shall be built in accordance with Sec 607 and Sec 1043.

(H11.14)

For details of pedestrian curb barrier, see sheet No. _.

(H11.15) Place following note with pedestrian curb or barrier details.

For pedestrian chain link fence, see sheet No. _.

Sidewalks

(H11.20)

All exposed edges of sidewalk shall have either a 1/2" radius or a 3/8" bevel, unless otherwise noted.

(H11.21)

Payment for all concrete and reinforcement, complete in place, will be considered completely covered by the contract unit price for Sidewalk (Bridges) per sq. foot.

(H11.22)

Concrete in the sidewalk shall be Class B-2.

(H11.23)

Measurement of the sidewalk is to the nearest square foot for each structure, measured horizontally from the outside face of barrier to the outside edge of sidewalk and from end of slab to end of slab.

Decorative Fencing and Pedestrian Fencing: Pedestrian Curb (Effective March 1, 2024)

(H11.30)

Top of curb shall be built parallel to grade and curb joints (except at end bents) normal to grade.
