RECENT POLICY CHANGES IN THE EPG | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
MoDOT has made great strides to build a good transportation system and increase taxpayers' trust in its ability to deliver what was promised. Innovative concepts, such as Practical Design and design-build, were used to deliver those commitments and have made MoDOT a leader in the transportation industry. These forward-thinking, innovative concepts are reflected in the ENGINEERING POLICY GUIDE (EPG). This document provides a single reference for all engineering and engineering-related guidance by combining the former Right of Way, Design, Bridge, Construction, Traffic and Maintenance manuals. MediaWiki, the engine behind the Wikipedia on the World Wide Web, is the software delivering the EPG. Millions of hits on the EPG endorse this format to be easy to navigate and pleasing to read. A small HELP ARTICLE is included to assist with helpful hints on how to use the EPG as well as other points of interest.

EPG 751.13.2 Silicone Expansion Joint Sealant 11/8/11: Silicone expansion joint sealant systems shall not be used for normal contract new or rehabilitation jobs. 11/7/11: In EPG 409 Seal Coat, the JSP has been updated. Minimum Support Length 11/3/11: Guidance has been expanded about the impact of minimum support length on some dimensions in EPG 751.34.3.2. Continuous Operations Routes Maps Updated 11/1/11: EPG 133.4 Snow and Ice Control Operation and EPG 144 Practical Operations now provide the latest maps for Continuous Operations Routes. Fee Consultants' Duration on Approved Rosters 11/1/11: Fee consultants' duration on approved rosters is 3 years after which a renewal application must be submitted to remain on the list. Guidance has been added in EPG 236.6.5.3, EPG 236.7.8.1, EPG 236.11.2.2 and EPG 236.18.6.1.2. Encased Pile Caps 10/26/11: Expanded guidance about encased pile cap bents and corrosion, concrete pile cap intermediate bent details and concrete pile cap intermediate bent reinforcement is now available. 10/25/11: This new figure has been added to EPG 104.7 Estimates by Transportation Planning as an aid to estimate costs. General Detail Considerations for Drilled Shafts 10/21/11: Because concrete coring may still be required in special circumstances to inspect drilled shafts, general detail considerations have been added. Related guidance is available at EPG 751.1.2.23 Drilled Shafts. 10/19/11: In EPG 409 Seal Coat, the Seal Coat Guidelines have been updated.
