RECENT POLICY CHANGES IN THE EPG
Crews have begun installation of new steel for the westbound I-70 Blanchette Missouri River Bridge.
Director Kevin Keith presents St. Robert Maintenance Crew Leader Arlis Humphrey with the Meritorious Safety Award for putting his own safety at risk to rescue an intoxicated, unresponsive man lying in the middle of Bus. 44 in Waynesville. The award is the highest safety award presented by MoDOT and the Commission. "I am just thankful that I saw him before anyone else did," said Humphrey. "I honestly believe he would have been run over if I hadn't been traveling there at that point in time."
MoDOT Project Manager Allan Zafft (right foreground) and CDM Smith Principal Planner and Group Leader Chris Nazar (right background) host an I-70 Second Tier EIS mobile meeting at The Museums & Vine. Customers review plans and offer comments on three proposed alternatives: no-build, geometric improvements and interchange consolidations.

MoDOT has made great strides to build a good transportation system and increase taxpayers' trust in its ability to deliver what was promised. Innovative concepts, such as Practical Design and design-build, were used to deliver those commitments and have made MoDOT a leader in the transportation industry.

These forward-thinking, innovative concepts are reflected in the ENGINEERING POLICY GUIDE (EPG). This document provides a single reference for all engineering and engineering-related guidance by combining the former Right of Way, Design, Bridge, Construction, Traffic and Maintenance manuals.

MediaWiki, the engine behind the Wikipedia on the World Wide Web, is the software delivering the EPG. Millions of hits on the EPG endorse this format to be easy to navigate and pleasing to read. A small HELP ARTICLE is included to assist with helpful hints on how to use the EPG as well as other points of interest.

Seasonal Crew Worker Dustin Cutler, left, and Sr. Maintenance Worker Jim Snyder seal pavement cracks on Rte. 82 east of Osceola.
