Is there a preferred location of where to begin/end the rumble strip for a ramp? Does it need to be placed on the acceleration or deceleration lane? We have seen locations where it stops where the auxiliary lane is added, but does it make more sense to take it closer to the gore? Thanks.

Keith L. Smith: The response from Traffic: I would say since we are dealing with rumble strips, edgelines of the mainline roadway, they should begin and end at the taper of the off/on ramps and at the transition between the gore striping and the edgeline stripe.
