WELCOME
RECENT POLICY CHANGES IN THE EPG
MoDOT has made great strides to build a good transportation system and increase taxpayers' trust in its ability to deliver what was promised. Innovative concepts, such as practical design and design-build, were used to deliver those commitments and have made MoDOT a leader in the transportation industry.

These forward-thinking, innovative concepts are reflected in the ENGINEERING POLICY GUIDE (EPG). This document provides a single reference for all engineering and engineering-related guidance by combining the former Right of Way, Design, Bridge, Construction, Traffic and Maintenance manuals.

MediaWiki, the engine behind the Wikipedia on the World Wide Web, is the software delivering the EPG. Millions of hits on the EPG endorse this format to be easy to navigate and pleasing to read. A small HELP ARTICLE is included to assist with helpful hints on how to use the EPG as well as other points of interest.

7/6/10: Guidance for prevailing wages and records was clarified to meet Dept. of Labor requirements.

EPG 109 Measurement and Payment

7/2/10: EPG 109 Payment Documentation Policy was retitled EPG 109 Measurement and Payment.

EPG 106 Control of Material

7/2/10: Almost all of the articles in EPG 106 have been rearranged to better align with Sec 106. Some have been slightly updated and one, the current EPG 616.27, was moved out of EPG 106.

EPG 751.10.4 Conduit Systems

6/25/10: Expanded guidance has been provided for conduit systems.

Roundabouts

6/16/10: Guidance for deflection (a horizontal curve in the road that slows approaching traffic) has been added to EPG 233.3 Roundabouts.

Life-Cycle Cost Adjustments

6/14/10: Required travelway information for determining the Life-Cycle Cost Adjustment has been clarified and expanded in Alternate Pavement.

Easily Printable EPG 903.13 Figures

6/9/10: EPG 903.13's figures are now presented in a more easily printable manner at the top of this article.

EPG 750.7.3.3 Environmental Requirements for Multi-Cell Box Culverts

6/4/10: New guidance for the center cell to have a depressed flowline to conduct aquatic life during low-flow in order to comply with US Army Corps of Engineers requirements.

Change Intervals for Signals

6/3/10: The change interval formula input (that determines the value for yellow and red to input into the signal controller when evaluating the signal timing) was adjusted for new yellow and red Mobility Plan requirements.
