WELCOME
RECENT POLICY CHANGES IN THE EPG
Maintc. Crew Leader Mike Flake operates a tractor while, behind, Maintc. Worker Ray Barnes drives the truck on an outer road of I-70 west of Warrenton. Crews have been working around the intermittent winter weather to repair edge ruts.
The land trusses on the Fairfax Bridge have been removed. Soon, this entire U.S. 69 bridge that crosses the Missouri River at Riverside will be demolished.
In an effort to reduce fatal and serious crashes on about 3 miles of I-70 between the Rte. 63 connector and the Lake of the Woods/St. Charles Rd. interchange in Columbia, the speed limit will be reduced from 70 mph to 60 mph beginning Thursday, Jan. 15. Changeable Message signs will be placed at both ends of the segment to inform motorists of the speed limit reduction.

MoDOT has made great strides to build a good transportation system and increase taxpayers' trust in its ability to deliver what was promised. Innovative concepts, such as Practical Design and design-build, were used to deliver those commitments and have made MoDOT a leader in the transportation industry.

These forward-thinking, innovative concepts are reflected in the ENGINEERING POLICY GUIDE (EPG). This document provides a single reference for all engineering and engineering-related guidance by combining the former Right of Way, Design, Bridge, Construction, Traffic and Maintenance manuals.

MediaWiki, the engine behind the Wikipedia on the World Wide Web, is the software delivering the EPG. Over 20 million hits on the EPG endorse this format to be easy to navigate and pleasing to read. A small HELP ARTICLE is included to assist with helpful hints on how to use the EPG as well as other points of interest.

Probably due to recent cold weather, Motorist Assist has been busier than usual helping stranded motorists. Here, a truck in the Kansas City area is assisted.
Perhaps you've wondered how many hits the most popular EPG articles have. As of mid-January, the numbers of hits are:
