RECENT POLICY CHANGES IN THE EPG
Director Dave Nichols shows commissioners a Saline County I-70 core sample from 2011 to illustrate the interstate’s significant deterioration. He described “Missouri’s 325 System” that will focus MoDOT’s expected 2017 construction budget of only $325 million onto 8,000 miles of primary roads. The expected small income is sufficient to only keep the primary roads in the good condition they are currently in with maintenance and rehabilitation work such as overlays and bridge replacements.
Maintc. Worker Craig Hargus (left), Inter. Maintc. Worker Scott Oliver (center) and Seasonal Maintc. Worker Kory Noe of the Regional Bridge Crew rebuild a bridge wall after a multi-vehicle crash on an I-49 bridge south of Lamar.
Maintc. Crew Leader Mike Flake operates a tractor while, behind, Maintc. Worker Ray Barnes drives the truck on an outer road of I-70 west of Warrenton. Crews have been working around the intermittent winter weather to repair edge ruts.

MoDOT has made great strides to build a good transportation system and increase taxpayers' trust in its ability to deliver what was promised. Innovative concepts, such as Practical Design and design-build, were used to deliver those commitments and have made MoDOT a leader in the transportation industry.

These forward-thinking, innovative concepts are reflected in the ENGINEERING POLICY GUIDE (EPG). This document provides a single reference for all engineering and engineering-related guidance by combining the former Right of Way, Design, Bridge, Construction, Traffic and Maintenance manuals.

MediaWiki, the engine behind the Wikipedia on the World Wide Web, is the software delivering the EPG. Over 20 million hits on the EPG endorse this format to be easy to navigate and pleasing to read. A small HELP ARTICLE is included to assist with helpful hints on how to use the EPG as well as other points of interest.

The land trusses on the Fairfax Bridge have been removed. Soon, this entire U.S. 69 bridge that crosses the Missouri River at Riverside will be demolished.
Perhaps you've wondered how many hits the most popular EPG articles have. As of mid-January, the numbers of hits are:
