This article establishes procedures for Laboratory testing and reporting samples of precast reinforced concrete manhole and drop inlet sections. Refer to Sec 1033 for MoDOT's specifications.

1033.4.1 Procedure

Tests consist of compression and absorption.

Compression Test. Samples may consist of two standard concrete cylinders made in accordance with AASHTO T23 or one core drilled from the wall of the section in accordance with AASHTO T280.

Absorption Test. Samples shall be tested in accordance with AASHTO T280. Test results and calculations shall be recorded through SiteManager.

1033.4.2 Sample Record

All sample records shall be completed in SiteManager, as described in Sample Record General Information Bulldozer.jpg. Test results shall be reported on the appropriate templates under the Tests tab. Compression test results for concrete cylinders shall include the notation in remarks, "Specimens submitted for compressive strength at the age indicated." Compression test results for concrete cores shall include the notation in remarks, "Sample submitted for the determinations indicated." Absorption test results for concrete cores or pieces from the wall of the section shall indicate acceptance, qualified acceptance, or rejection. Appropriate remarks, as described in EPG 106.20 Reporting, are to be included in the remarks to clarify conditions of acceptance or rejection.
