This article establishes procedures for Laboratory testing and reporting samples of preservatives for lumber, timber, piling, posts and poles. Refer to Sec 1050 for MoDOT’s specifications.
1050.5.1 Procedure
Pentachlorophenol is to be tested according to Standard Method of Analysis, AWPA A5-73. The petroleum solvent shall be tested in accordance with the methods set forth in Standard Method of Analysis, AWPA P9.
Creosote is to be tested according to Standard Method of Analysis AWPA A1.
Ammoniacal Copper Arsenate (ACA) and Chromated Copper Arsenate (CCA) are to be tested according to Standard Method of Analysis, AWPA A2.
All test data and calculations shall be recorded in Laboratory workbooks. Test results are to be recorded through SiteManager.
1050.5.2 Sample Report
The sample record shall be completed in SiteManager, as described in Automation Section 3510, and shall indicate acceptance, qualified acceptance or rejection. Appropriate remarks, as described in EPG 106.20 Reporting, are to be included in the remarks to clarify conditions of acceptance or rejection. Test results shall be reported on the appropriate templates under the Tests tab.
