RECENT POLICY CHANGES IN THE EPG
Sr. Customer Service Rep. Kim Gordon at work in the busy Kansas City Scout headquarters.
Inter. Construction Inspector Karen Lane, left, and Sr. Construction Inspector Erin Van Roekel consult on a resurfacing project on I-49/US 71 near Pineville.
Area Engineer Brian Haeffner visits with a Louisiana resident at the U.S. 54 Mississippi River Bridge public meeting. The public was invited to provide input on three potential locations for the bridge and four potential options for the U.S. 54/MO 179 intersection.

MoDOT has made great strides to build a good transportation system and increase taxpayers' trust in its ability to deliver what was promised. Innovative concepts, such as Practical Design and design-build, were used to deliver those commitments and have made MoDOT a leader in the transportation industry.

These forward-thinking, innovative concepts are reflected in the ENGINEERING POLICY GUIDE (EPG). This document provides a single reference for all engineering and engineering-related guidance by combining the former Right of Way, Design, Bridge, Construction, Traffic and Maintenance manuals.

MediaWiki, the engine behind the Wikipedia on the World Wide Web, is the software delivering the EPG. Millions of hits on the EPG endorse this format to be easy to navigate and pleasing to read. A small HELP ARTICLE is included to assist with helpful hints on how to use the EPG as well as other points of interest.

Concrete girders were placed on an innovative bridge east of Jefferson City, made with stronger, cheaper materials that reduce waste and involve production of less CO2. The bridge concept was developed in a partnership with Missouri S&T and is part of the U.S. 50 four-lane project in Osage County.

EPG 136.3.8.10 Traffic Engineering Assistance Program (TEAP)

10/1/13: EPG 906 TEAP has been moved to EPG 136.3.8.10 TEAP. The modified EPG language reflects Design Division timelines and processes. (Local agencies will select a consultant from an approved list of on-call consultants to complete a TEAP study for them.) The TEAP application has also been completely revised to resemble other DE or LPA standard applications. In FY 2014, the Traffic & Highway Safety Division and the Local Programs group will partner to administer TEAP. The TEAP processes and timelines will remain the same. In FY 2015, the administration of TEAP will be through the Local Programs group.
