1111.3 Laboratory Testing Guidelines
This article establishes procedures for Laboratory testing and reporting samples of herbicides, soil sterilants, surfactants and grass, weed and brush killers. The requirements are set forth in the bid request issued by MoDOT.
Most herbicide materials will be accepted on the basis of field inspection. Samples submitted to the Laboratory will be evaluated by visual inspection, label analysis verification and qualitative identification by infrared spectrophotometry. 2,4-D weed killer may be tested for total chlorine content by the Parr peroxide bomb method.
Original test data, calculations, and Laboratory findings shall be recorded in Laboratory workbooks. Test results shall then be recorded through SiteManager.
1111.3.2 Sample Record
The sample record shall be completed in SiteManager, as described in Sample Record General Information , and shall indicate acceptance, qualified acceptance, or rejection. Appropriate remarks, as described in EPG 106.20 Reporting, are to be included in the remarks to clarify conditions of acceptance or rejection. Test results shall be reported on the appropriate templates under the Tests tab.
