Pace Construction crews work on the final preparations to complete a new flyover ramp between Rte. 141 and I-44 in Valley Park. Sr. Maint. Worker Ryan Horvatic (L) is recognized by Dist. Eng. Travis Koestner with the Meritorious Safety Award for rescuing a motorist. Ryan was treating Rte. 13 just north of the Henry/Johnson county line Feb. 22 when he saw a pickup on its top in a ditch. In the truck a woman, still in her seatbelt, hung upside down with her leg caught in the steering wheel. Removing the woman from the pickup, he determined she was not seriously hurt. Ryan got her into his truck to await the arrival of law enforcement and an ambulance.

MoDOT has made great strides to build a good transportation system and increase taxpayers' trust in its ability to deliver what was promised. Innovative concepts, such as Practical Design and design-build, were used to deliver those commitments and have made MoDOT a leader in the transportation industry.

These forward-thinking, innovative concepts are reflected in the ENGINEERING POLICY GUIDE (EPG). This document provides a single reference for all engineering and engineering-related guidance by combining the former Right of Way, Design, Bridge, Construction, Traffic and Maintenance manuals.
