RECENT POLICY CHANGES IN THE EPG
The demolition of the remainder of the I-64 Daniel Boone Bridge built in the 1930s. Construction for the $111 million Boone Bridge project began in January 2013 and the new eastbound bridge opened to traffic in June. The 1980s bridge was then rehabilitated and opened to westbound traffic in November.
If a citizen reports a pothole by calling 888-ASK-MoDOT, or clicking into http://www.modot.org/asp/repair.htm or emailing the info to comments@modot.mo.gov, someone like Maintc. Crew Leader Mike Walsh will take care of the potholes on the roadway within 24 hours of receiving the info. MoDOT has kicked off our Pothole Patrol campaign.
The first four Diverging Diamond interchanges built in Springfield have reduced total crashes by 30% and injury crashes by 60%, a study by the city’s Public Works Dept. reports. In 2009, MoDOT built the first diverging diamond interchange in North America at I-44 and Rte. 13 in Springfield and there are now 5 of these interchanges in the city.

MoDOT has made great strides to build a good transportation system and increase taxpayers' trust in its ability to deliver what was promised. Innovative concepts, such as Practical Design and design-build, were used to deliver those commitments and have made MoDOT a leader in the transportation industry.

These forward-thinking, innovative concepts are reflected in the ENGINEERING POLICY GUIDE (EPG). This document provides a single reference for all engineering and engineering-related guidance by combining the former Right of Way, Design, Bridge, Construction, Traffic and Maintenance manuals.
